Vietnamese Defense Minister Visits S. Korea

Vietnamese Defense Minister Pham Van Tra arrived in Seoul for a seven-day visit Wednesday at the invitation of South Korean Defense Minister Kim Dong-shin.

This is the first time a Vietnamese defense minister has visited Korea since the Vietnam War, in which South Korea fought on the side of the South Vietnam forces. South Korea and Vietnam opened diplomatic relations in 1992.
