Beijing-Shanghai Luxurious Train to Open Service

A brand-new luxurious passenger train is going to be put into service from Beijing to Shanghai on October 1 this year. The new train will be the first one to be run with all sleeping berths, at high speed and of great comfort. It is said that stewardesses will be employed to ensure best services are provided for passengers boarding the train.

Lu Dongfu, director of Shanghai Railway Administration, told that China's Ministry of Railway has reformed its accounting system by separating passenger revenue from cargo revenue, which has helped the ministry achieve the target of "earning revenue from markets". This has promoted efforts by Shanghai Railway Administration for new service, new competitive edge and new victories to be won through competition.
