The Postal Services of China's Macao Special Administrative Region (SAR) will issue a set of new stamps featuring "Romance of the Three Kingdoms" as of August 1.
The set includes four varieties of stamps bearing the face value of 3 patacas (37.5 US cents), and a total of 750,000 sets will be issued, Carlos Roldao Lopes, director of the Postal Services, said at a press conference Monday.
Other postal products, such as souvenir sheet, first-day cover and introduction paper, will be also available to introduce the plots and characters described in the "Romance of the Three Kingdoms", a famous Chinese historical novel.
It will be the eighth set of stamps for the year 2001, following the special stamps issued to commemorate Beijing's successful bid for hosting the 2008 Olympic games. The Postal Services plans to issue 12 sets in the whole year.
