Chinese, Sierra Leone Leaders Exchange Greetings on Anniversary of TiesChinese President Jiang Zemin and his Sierra Leone counterpart Ahmed Tejan Kabbah have exchanged congratulatory messages on the 30th anniversary of the establishment of diplomatic relations between their two countries.In a message dated Sunday, Jiang said that during the past 30 years, China and Sierra Leone have fostered fruitful cooperation in a wide range of areas including politics, economy, culture and health. Jiang said that Tejan Kabbah's visit to China in 1999, in particular, provided a huge boost to the development of bilateral relations. "Trusting and supporting each other in international affairs, we exerted concerted efforts to establish a just and reasonable new international political and economic order," he added. China treasures its friendly ties with Sierra Leone, Jiang said, adding that China is willing to work with the Western African state to push the development of their links to a new level. On his part, Tejan Kabbah expressed thanks to Jiang for long- term cooperation between China and Sierra Leone, and reaffirmed the country's support for China's "One Country, Two Systems" policy. On the same day, Chinese Foreign Minister Tang Jiaxuan also exchanged messages of felicitations with Sierra Leone Minister of Foreign Affairs and International Cooperation Ramadan Dumbuya.
