Alpine Flowers Hopeful to Local Tibetans

Making the most of local advantages in geography and climate, the local Tibetans in Deqen Tibetan Autonomous Prefecture, at an elevation of over 3300 meters on Deqen Plateau in Yunnan Province, have developed an alpine flower industry. More than 40 varieties of flowers are planted over thousand mu of land. Enjoying a wide ready market in many parts of China as Beijing, Shanghai and Shandong, the flowers are helping local Tibetans out of poverty.

Zhang Jian Crosses English Channel
