Jiangsu Sends over 60,000 Workers abroad

East China's Jiangsu Province sent 60,435 workers abroad during the first half of this year, up 69.4 percent from the same period of last year, said officials in charge of foreign trade in the province.

Xu Yan, deputy director with the department of foreign trade in the province, said that the overall demand for labor in the world keeps rising, which offers a good opportunity for Jiangsu's enterprises dealing with labor export business.

Xu also noted that workers from Jiangsu now enjoy a sound reputation for their quality service and they have won a larger market share.

In the first half of this year, the province made great progress in signing contracts with countries in Africa and Latin America.

While the number of projects, especially large projects, kept growing, the technical level of these projects has also been upgraded, according to government sources.
