China, Mexico Willing to Conclude WTO Talks

Both China and Mexico expressed strong willingness to resolve the remaining issues in their bilateral talks on China's admission into the World Trade Organization (WTO) Friday.

Chinese Minister of Foreign Trade and Economic Cooperation (MOFTE) Shi Guangsheng and Mexican Secretary of Economy Luis Ernesto Derbez held talks on China's WTO accession and bilateral trade ties earlier Friday.

Shi noted that China attaches great importance to bilateral trade relations with Mexico and is ready to reach an agreement with Mexico on China's WTO entry at an early date.

Derbez reiterated the Mexican stand of support for China's WTO accession and said the remaining problems would not affect China's admission process.

Mexico is the only WTO member that is yet to conclude bilateral talks with China.
