Nepali Government Condemns Bombing in Sri Lanka

The Government of Nepal on July 27 condemned the recent bombing incident in Sri Lanka's International Airport.

"It is with deep shock that the government of Nepal has received the news of the recent bombing incident at the Colombo International Airport resulting in the damage of military and commercial aircraft," the Nepali Foreign Ministry said in a press statement issued here Friday.

"The government of Nepal condemns all such reprehensible acts and calls for the imperative need of preserving and safeguarding of peace and order in public life," the statement said.

At least 20 people were killed Tuesday in a bomb attack by Tamil Tiger rebels on Sri Lanka's only international airport. Eight military aircraft and five passenger planes were also damaged in the attack for an estimated loss of US$350m.
