National Youth Stamp Exhibition to Open
The 2001 Youth Philately Exhibition is scheduled to be held from July 28 till 30 at the China Children's Center.
The All-China Philately Federation, Ministry of Education and the Communist Youth League of China jointly organized the exhibition in a bid to popularize the hobby of stamp collecting among young people.
At a press conference Friday morning, Chang Yanting, vice- chairman of the federation, said that the exhibition includes 156 stamp albums and 501 boards of stamps.
Some 92 percent of the albums are in the national exhibition and contest for the first time, Chang said.
In accordance with international practice, the exhibition will also grant awards to the winners.
