Engineering Academy Pledges to Help Shanghai
The Chinese Academy of Engineering (CAE) will offer comprehensive assistance to the technological and economic advancement in
Shanghai
and Yangtze River Delta in east China.
According to an agreement signed Thursday by CAE and the municipal government of Shanghai, they will establish a joint committee and a center for consultation and academic cooperation, aiming to encourage the 53 CAE members who are currently working in Shanghai to serve its long-term development.
The two institutions will serve as a think tank for local decision-makers and help to train more capable personnel for the region, said local officials.
