State Council Holds Executive Meeting

China's State Council approved three regulations on oil and natural gas pipelines, the printing industry and cotton quality at its 43rd executive meeting Thursday.

The meeting, presided over by Premier Zhu Rongji, examined and approved the Revised Draft Regulation on The Protection of Oil And Natural Gas Pipelines.

Council members maintained that the former regulation, which was promulgated in 1989, is outdated in light of the country's economic development.

The meeting also approved the Revised Draft Regulation on The Management of The Printing Industry, in an effort to ensure the sector can operate on a healthy track.

Finally, the council approved the Draft Regulation on The Supervision And Management of Cotton Quality to ensure the quality of processed cotton.
