Shandong to Host International Symposium on Fruit, Vegetable Processing

The Third International Symposium on Fruit and Vegetable Processing will be held in October in Yantai, in east China's coastal province of Shandong.

Approved by the State Council, the annual symposium will be held from October 19 to 23, with "green future" as its theme. The symposium aims to provide a platform for technology exchanges and cooperation within the fruit and vegetable circle, and promote trade and economic cooperation.

The symposium will include scientific and technology discussions, fruit and vegetable exhibitions and economic technology cooperation. The exhibition will feature 600 standard booths.

The symposium is also being organized by the Academy of Engineering of China, the Ministry of Foreign Trade and Economic Cooperation, Ministry of Science and Technology, Ministry of Agriculture and the Shandong Provincial Government.

Yantai is one of the first 14 coastal cities open to the outside world, and it has 214,000 hectares of fruit growing area, with an annual output of 2.6 million tons.
