New National Emblem to Be Hung Up on Great Hall of People

The two-ton wooden national emblem hung up on the east gate of the Great Hall of the People since 1959 will be replaced by a metal one a few days later for the former makes maintenance work difficult due to aging as a result of the corrosion of elements.

The one-ton metal national emblem, with steel structure, copperplate cover, golden surface, and red paint, is 6.3 meters in diameter. The new one, detached for the convenience of transportation, has been delivered to the Great Hall of the People and will be reassembled before installation..
