China Expedites Aviation Informationization Construction
During the 10th Five-year Plan period (2001-2005), China is to carry out overall informationization construction in the way a leapfrog development is to be materialized by the country's aviation industry, according to sources released from a relevant meeting held in Beijing on July 24.
China Aviation Industrial Corporation No. 1, operating with workstations, thousands of computers, and over 1000 sets of CAD/CAM design software, has already put in use a dozen of databases on the internet, including aviation sci-tech document database, airplane database, world aviation industry database and what not.
The Corporation has set its informationization construction goals during the 10th Five-year Plan period as follows:
1. Basically set up a network platform for connecting all corporate subsidiaries and a supporting platform to back up network operation and management;
2. Establish an integrated Headquarters-centered management system;
3. Set up a modern integrated manufacture system;
4. Make it sure scientific research, production and management work be completely updated.
