China, Mexico Hold Bilateral Talks on WTO Accession

According to Beijing Youth Daily, the Mexican trade delegation has arrived in Beijing on July 25. Bilateral talks on China's WTO entry will be held the following day, but this won't affect China's WTO membership at the Doha negotiations in coming November.

Mexico is the only WTO member country that hasn't reached agreement with China and the two countries still have divergences on two or three issues in current talks. WTO Chief Negotiator of the MOFTEC Long Yongtu says the talks with Mexico is the last effort made by China, which will not cast any shadow on the general course of China's WTO entry.

Expert says the talks will focus on labor-intensive industries as textile and mechanical and electric industries.
