Typhoon Yutu Hits South China
Typhoon Yutu that is edging toward the south China coast is expected to land in Guangdong Province Wednesday afternoon, said an emergency warning of China's Central Meteorological Station Wednesday morning.

At 2:00 a.m. Wednesday, the center of Yutu was around 180 kilometers south of Zhuhai City, Guangdong Province (20.7 degrees north latitude and 114.2 degrees east longitude). It was forecast to move west or northwest at 20 kilometers per hour, and was to land in coastal cities including Taishan and Xuwen Wednesday afternoon, the meteorological station reported.

Affected by Yutu, strong gale will hit coastal areas in Guangdong, Hainan and some other Chinese provinces on the eastern coast. Where center of the typhoon passes by, storm or hurricane is expected.

The typhoon will also bring torrential rain to Guangdong and Hainan provinces as well as the neighboring Guangxi Zhuang Autonomous region.
