Ten Major Chinese Products to be on Trial as Famous Brand

Promoted and organized by General Administration of Quality Supervision and Quarantine (GAQSQ), the 2001 appraisal of Chinese Famous Brand Products has been formally launched in following ten trades including refrigerator, air-conditioner for household use, washing machine, micro-wave oven, color television, microcomputer, motorcycles, garment, monosodium glutamate, and color film industries.

The Chinese famous brand products refer to the quality of actual goods reaching the world advanced level as against the same product in the world and enjoying a leading status in domestic market; with a high market-share and awareness, a high rate of client-satisfaction and strong competitiveness. China's enterprises may apply for the participation in the appraisal of their own accord and be selected for free in terms of opinions from the market and clients under the principles of being scientific, equal for all, open and fair-play and non-permanent.

As reported, the application for the first appraisal has been wound up on July 20. Department concerned will strictly select and appraise qualified enterprises in terms of relevant rules and regulations and announce the outcome on September 1, 2001 for social supervision.
