Chinese Women Baseball Team Leave for World Championships Qualifying Tourney
The Chinese women baseball team left for the world championships Asian qualifying tournament to be held in Japan from July 25 to 29.
The Chinese team, which consists of 17 players, will vie for one of the three qualifiying berths for the 10th world championships.
Teams from South Korea, the Democratic People's Republic of Korea, the Philippines, Chinese Taipei as well as the host Japan will participate in the tounament.
As the top four finishers in the world championships will qualify directly for the Athen Olympic Games of 2004, all the nations and regions will send their best players to fight for a position in the world championship.
