BOC Made 11.106bn Yuan of Profit in First 6 Months
The Bank of China reported a half-year profit of RMB11.106bn yuan by June 2001, sources from a national conference told on July 23.
As reported, on the basis of the interests of RMB5.179bn yuan overdue, BOC's domestic subsidiaries achieved a half-year profit of RMB4.66bn yuan, some RMB 1.691billion yuan over last year, up 57 percent, as the highest in past five years.
In the first half of this year, the bank's businesses grew steadily as well, with a fast and steady development of deposits and loan businesses respectively. By the end of June, BOC has made an increase of RMB61.004bn yuan in RMB and foreign currencies loans, up 8.37 percent. In addition, interest-obtainable rate also showed a growth of 11 percentage points over that of last year by improving clients' structure.
