Falun Gong Crime Widely Condemned

People from all walks of life around the country condemned the recent crime of the Falun Gong cult as inhuman and violating human rights.

On Friday the media showered the radio and television air waves about the report that the body of a pious Falun Gong disciple from southwest Sichuan Province was discarded by her peers to conceal the truth when she tried to join the protest in Beijing early this year.

Liu Banglu, husband of the deceased, said that his family lost its usual happiness after she started practicing Falun Gong and is now in debt for buying the cult's books and tapes.

Jia Xiurong, a 38-year-old practitioner in north China's Shanxi Province admitted, "Once a man's spirit is bewitched by the evil cult, they will do anything brutal."

A former believer, Pan Chun of Beijing, who has recently claimed to have abandoned the cult expressed gratitude that she was able to avoid being such a victim.

Professor Zhang Daming with the Xinjiang University said the bloody crime is irrefutable evidence of the cult's evil nature.

Guo Yaju, 34, a former practitioner who is now undergoing re- education in northeast Jinlin Province, could not sleep after watching a TV report about the incident. She said the victim's death has helped her to decide to leave the cult.

Residents in Zhuhai, south Guangdong Province, told Xinhua that Falun Gong is "really ferocious." They said that they prefer to arm themselves with science rather than superstition.
