China Welcomes NTR Vote Outcome in U.S. Congress
China welcomed the defeat of a resolution in the U.S. House of Representatives that would have removed Normal Trade Relations (NTR) with China.
Chinese Foreign Ministry
spokesman Sun Yuxi made the remarks Friday. Sun noted that it was wise for the U.S. congress to veto the resolution.
Sun said the NTR is an equal treatment of mutual benefit between states, and developing Sino-U.S. economic and trade relations on the basis of equality, mutual benefit and stability conforms to the fundamental interest of the two peoples.
