Guangdong People Eat Numerous Locusts
Some places in north China and northwest China have been molested by a locust plague due to sustained serious drought.
All kinds of methods have been adopted to kill locusts in different regions. For instance, in Xinjiang, ducks are released to wipe out locusts, while in Hubei, people use boiling water to kill the pest; learning that Guangdong people like to eat locusts, some businessmen in Guangxi breed, transport and sell large amounts of locusts to Guangdong to make money. Indeed, Guangdong people eat thousands of locusts every day.
Experts said that locust is delicious and highly nutritious. To eat locusts can also kill the pest, but the practice of breeding huge amounts of locusts to make money is questionable.
