Bank Robber in Tianjin Sentenced to Death

The No. 1 Intermediate Court of Tianjin Municipality yesterday sentenced Lixu, a bank robber, to death penalty with his political rights deprived for life.

Lixu, 19, in collaboration with Zhao, a minor, robbed a savings office of the Construction of China in Hebei District on the morning of June 24. They robbed 292, 000 yuan, 20,000 US dollars, and 40,000 Hong Kong dollars.

The police arrested him in his home on June 26. As the other robber is a minor, the court will announce the ruling later.
