China Opens First Website on UrbanizationChina Urbanization Website, the first urbanization-oriented website in China, opened Wednesday in Hangzhou, the capital of east China¡¯s Zhejiang Province.The website was launched by the Macro-Economy Research Institute of the State Development Planning Commission in cooperation with the Zhejiang Provincial Development Planning Commission. The website¡¯s contents covers four aspects of urbanization including news, forum, practices and achievements. Now the wave of urbanization is sweeping eastern China, western China, southern China and northern China. For example, 48.67 percent of residents in Zhejiang now live in urban areas, while the urban economy accounts for 87.4 percent of the Zhejiang¡¯s GDP. |
