Seminar on Social Security Fund Management

An international seminar on social security fund management systems was held Wednesday in Shanghai.

Overseas financial institutes introduced focused on fund management and operation methods, while Chinese experts voiced their viewpoints and proposals on the issue.

China established its social security system in early 1993 and has successfully formed a comprehensive framework. Attendants said that due to the increasing aging population and lack of investment operation, an orderly market and a strict supervision system, it is urgent for China to set up a market-oriented fund management system.

Apart from government officials and scholars from the academic circles, the seminar also invited financial institutions.

The seminar was held by the Pudong Development Bank, Shanghai Dongxin International Investment Management Co, Ltd, the Swiss Banking Asset Management Co. and the Shanghai University of Finance and Economics.
