'Washington Post' Icon Katharine Graham, 84, DiesKatharine Meyer Graham, who fought through family tragedy and self-doubt to lead The Washington Post to Pulitzer Prizes and profitability, died Tuesday in an Idaho hospital of injuries suffered in a fall last Saturday. She was 84. Graham, who never regained consciousness after the accident, had been in Idaho for an annual business retreat hosted by investment banker Herbert Allen Jr. Donald Graham, her son and successor as publisher of the Post, was with Graham when she died.
