Israeli President Congratulates China for Hosting 2008 Olympic Games
Israeli President Moshe Katsav sent a telegram on Tuesday to Chinese President Jiang Zemin, congratulating Beijing, China for successful biding of the 2008 Olympic Games.
"I wish to congratulate you and the great people of China on being chosen by the International Olympic Committee, which met in Moscow, to host the 2008 Olympic Games," Katsav said in the telegram.
"On behalf of the people of Israel and myself, I wish to convey to you the best wishes for success in preparing this important international event, on which the eyes of the entire world will be focused," he added.
While expressing his highest esteem to president Jiang, Katsav said that the Olympic Games to be held in China will increase the feelings of friendship and peace in the world.
