Negotiations Open Again on China's WTO Entry

China and WTO negotiators sat together for a new round talks Monday in Geneva in the hope of completing all the negotiations on the outstanding issues on China 's accession to the World Trade Organization (WTO).

The WTO Working Party on China's accession is expected to discuss the revised Working Party Report and Protocol of China's accession at its 17th session scheduled here on July 16 to 20.

China has completed the substantial negotiations at the last session earlier this month, which became a turning point in the long process of China's entry into WTO, Long Yongtu, China's chief negotiator said at the press conference after the meeting.

WTO Secretary-General Mike Moore said that the progress made by the Working Party on China's accession earlier this month has improved the prospects for a decision on China's entry this November at the 4th Ministerial Conference in Doha, Qatar.
