DPRK Senior Official Visits Cambodia

Kim Yong Nam, president of the Presidium of the Supreme People's Assembly of the Democratic People's Republic of Korea (DPRK), arrived in Phnom Penh at 11:00 a.m. local time Tuesday for a four-day state visit to Cambodia, at the invitation of King Norodom Sihanouk.

King Norodom Sihanouk, Norodom Ranariddh, President of National Assembly, and Chea Sim, President of Senate, greeted Kim Yong Nam at the airport. Among those present at the airport were other top government officials and foreign diplomats here.

During the trip, Kim will be granted a royal audience by King Sihanouk. He will also have separate meetings with Senate President Chea Sim, Ranariddh and Prime Minister Hun Sen.

A joint communique between the two countries is expected to be signed at the end of Kim's visit.
