Pakistan to Invite Chinese Coach to Prepare Shuttlers for SAF Games

Pakistan Badminton Federation (PBF) has finally settled on acquiring a Chinese coach, Zhao Xinhua, to train the players for the SAF Games.

According to local media late Monday, PBF earlier had also solicited the Indonesian and Malaysian authorities for hiring an "English-speaking" coach who could communicate "smoothly" with the players.

However, now the PBF has focalized Zhao Xinhua, who is rated highly in international badminton circles as he was also a national player of China from 1971 to 1973.

PBF has now written to Pakistan Sports Board to process paperwork for inviting Zhao Xinhua to Pakistan to coach the players for SAF Games which is to be held here on October 6-15 .

Zhao Xinhua, qualified as national coach in 1983 and has trained China's world-ranked players like Sun Jun, Liu Yong, Zhang Yong, Zhou Feng, etc, is expected to reach Pakistan within two or three weeks to train the players for the SAF Games.

The Federation is also making efforts to arrange a training trip to either Malaysia or Indonesia in August or September before the SAF Games which will have seven gold medals in the men's and ladies badminton events.
