China Southern Airlines Succeeded in Trial Flight over North Pole

Plane 2055, Boeing 777 of China Southern Airlines Co., Ltd., came back from trial flight cross the North Pole and landed safely at Beijing Capital Airport on 15:13 Sunday. Taking off from New York, the plane spent 14 hours on its trip to the north crossing the US, Canada, the Polar region, and then, Russia, Mongolia, and finally arrived at Beijing. It marks a consummation of the trial flight crossing the North Pole region by China Southern Airlines.

The flight over the polar region will encounter some difficulties that cannot be found in normal route flights. Only several airlines in the world so far have finished similar trial flights. China Southern Airlines is the first airlines which use Boeing 777 double-engine airplane to finish the trail flight from New York, eastern seacoast of the US, directly to Beijing.
