Iranian Parliament Members Urge UN to Try Israeli "War Criminals"Hundreds of Iranian parliament members on Sunday signed a petition to the United Nations Security Council calling for trial of Israeli "war criminals.""On behalf of the Iranian people, we call on the United Nations to bring the Zionist (Israeli) war criminals to justice," Iran's official IRNA news agency quoted as saying the petition, signed by 220 Iranian parliament members. Israeli forces demolished dozens of houses in Palestinian refugee camps in the Gaza Strip and East Jerusalem last Monday and Tuesday, leaving scores of Palestinians homeless and triggering circle of violence. "We vigorously condemn the Zionist atrocities and U.S. support for them and announce our all-out support for the Palestinian intifada (uprising)," the petition said. The signatories also called on international organizations to change their "indifference" toward the Israeli brutalities against the Palestinian lands. "The indifference of these organizations corroborates their support for Israeli atrocities on the occupied lands," the signatories said. The nearly 10 months of Palestinian-Israeli bloody violence has left more than 600 people dead, most of them Palestinians. Iran, which does not recognize Israel, is a staunch supporter of Palestinians' struggles for restoring their legitimate rights.
