DPRK Delegation Ends China Visit

The friendly delegation headed by Secretary General Kim Yun Hyok of the Presidium of the Supreme People's Assembly of the Democratic People's Republic of Korea (DPRK) left Beijing on July 14 after concluding its four-day visit in China.

The delegation arrived Beijing Tuesday to participate in activities celebrating the 40th anniversary of the signing of the Treaty of Friendship, Cooperation and Mutual Assistance between the two countries.

Before leaving, Kim expressed his congratulations to Beijing on its successful bidding of the 2008 Olympic Games. He said he believes that Beijing will host an outstanding event in 2008.

During the visit, the delegation also visited Shaoshan, the birthplace of late Chinese leader Mao Zedong, in China's central Hunan Province.
