Smiling Holyfield Celebrates Beijing's Successful Olympics Bid

American heavy weight champion Evander Holyfield smiled as he learned the Chinese capital city has won its bid to host 2008 Olympic Games on Friday night.

The four-time world champion Holyfield is now in Beijing preparing for a World Boxing Association (WBA) heavyweight title fight to be slated here on August 5 against reigning champion John Ruiz.

"You must have seen my smiling face from the TV live broadcast, " said Holyfield who was invited to the celebration party at the Chinese Center TV station CCTV auditorium with other national sports celebrities last night.

"I am happy I am here at the moment that China win the 2008 Olympic bid. I feel proud for Chinese people," he said.

"Beijing's successful bid convinced me one thing -- when you stick to your targets and try your efforts unremittingly, the victory will finally come to you," he said during the celebration party at the auditorium.
