Special Stamp Pane to Celebrate Beijing's Success in Olympic Bid

China Post, Hongkong Post and Macao Post will each issue a special stamp Pane on July 14 with a common design based on the "Beijing 2008" emblem to celebrate Beijing's success in its bid for hosting the 2008 Olympic Games, according to Allan Chiang. acting postmaster general of Hong Kong, Friday.

The issue will take the form of a pane of twelve stamps. The stamps are printed in photogravure by Beijing Stamp Printing Factory.

The special stamp pane issued by Hongkong Post comprises twelve stamps of the face value of 1.3 HK dollars (17 U.S. cents) and is sold at 15.60 HK dollars each at all post offices Saturday from 9 am onwards.

In addition to blank first day covers, serviced first day covers with the special stamp affixed and canceled with the special postmark are available.

As a related philatelic product, a souvenir pack will jointly be issued by China Post, Hongkong Post and Macao Post.
