Vice-premier Meets German Minister

China needs a stable social situation to continue its reform, opening up and economic development, said Chinese Vice-premier Wu Bangguo Friday.

Wu made the remarks when meeting with German Minister of Labor and Social Affairs Walter Riester.

An effective social insurance mechanism will ensure the basic interests of all Chinese people, Wu said, adding, China will make more efforts to fulfill the framework of insurance covering the whole of society.

Wu also said China and Germany should exchange their experiences in labor management and social insurance systems.

Riester said that while speeding up the trade relations with China, Germany hopes to enhance cooperation in the field of social insurance with China, he said.
