APEC Youth Festival Concludes in Shanghai
The APEC Youth Festival-APEC Young Leaders/Entrepreneurs Forum concluded Friday in Shanghai. Incoming Director-General of the World Trade Organization Supachai Panitchpakdi attended the closing ceremony.
Huang Danhua, vice-president of the All-China Youth Federation, addressed the closing ceremony, saying that the forum ended in success.
She said that during the forum, the representatives, focusing on participation, renovation and cooperation, shared experiences and promoted cooperation.
The forum also helped the APEC youth improve themselves and played a more important role in promoting regional social and economic development, she said.
In his speech at the closing ceremony, Supachai analyzed the economic situation in the Asia-Pacific region, and stressed the importance of regional cooperation.
He said that the forum was very important and gave the APEC youth opportunities to join in the process of globalization and trade liberalization, which is of importance to promoting common prosperity in the Asia-Pacific region.
With the theme of "Building Common Prosperity by Meeting Challenges of Young Leaders and Entrepreneurs in the New Economy," the participants exchanged views on how to improve renovation, trade and investment in the new economy, and how to promote the youth's participation in regional economic cooperation.
Participants agreed that the success of the forum, which is part of the year's APEC activities, has promoted the youth's participation in the APEC process.
