NPC Vice Chairman Ends Pyongyang Trip

A Chinese delegation, led by Jiang Chunyun, vice chairman of the Standing Committee of the National People's Congress (NPC), left Pyangyong for home Friday at the end of a five-day goodwill visit to the Democratic People's Republic of Korea (DPRK).

Jiang, who is also a member of the Political Bureau of the Central Committee of the Communist Party of China (CPC), and his party were seen off at the airport by DPRK Minister of Public Health Kim Su Hak, Vice Foreign Minister Kim Yong Il and other senior officials.

During his stay, Jiang attended activities in commemoration of the 40th anniversary of the signing of the Sino-DPRK Treaty of Friendship, Cooperation and Mutual Assistance.

He also met with DPRK top leader Kim Jong Il and Kim Yong Nam, president of the Presidium of the DPRK Supreme People's Assembly, and other high-ranking officials.
