Overseas Investment Increasing in Central China City

By the end of June, the number of overseas-funded enterprises in this capital of Hubei Province had hit 2,888, with a total investment of 9.6 billion US dollars.

Recent statistics indicate the city's overseas-funded businesses have a combined registered capital worth 5.9 billion US dollars.

During the first half of this year, overseas investment reached 80 million US dollars, 2.33 times that of the same period last year.

According to a local official, the overseas-funded enterprises set up in the period highlight the manufacturing industry and high- tech sector.

The official attributed the achievements to an improving business environment and favorable policies in the fields of investment management, intellectual property protection and registration procedures.
