Boao Forum to Boost Ties Between Asian Enterprises

Ajit Singh, secretary-general of the Boao Forum for Asia, said here Thursday that the forum will work to boost cooperation between Asian enterprises so as to sharpen their competitiveness.

Singh made the remarks while visiting the Cocowind Group Co. Ltd, a coconut drinks company in the island province of Hainan.

He said that the first conference of the forum will be held next year and preparations for the event are going on as scheduled. The participants at the conference will mainly be businessmen.

The Boao Forum for Asia was launched as an non-governmental international conference organization on February 27 this year at the town of Boao in the city of Qionghai in Hainan. It provides a function for people of various circles to have dialogue on economic development, population and the environment.

Singh, formerly secretary-general of the Association of Southeast Asian Nations (ASEAN), was elected secretary-general of the forum.
