Dalian Shide advanced to the top of the China soccer first division with a 3-1 win over Tianjing Taida as the nearest rivals Shanghai Shenhua were trounced by Qingdao Beer 1-0 on Thursday.

Dalian's victory was provided by Hao Haidong, who opened the scoring after eight minutes for the visiting side and then scored Dalian's winner in the 83rd with his 10th goal this season.

Qingdao pulled even at the 30th minute but Dalian took advantage shortly afterward, Yan Song's goal led Dalian 2-1 into the break.
