12 Foreign Firms Explore Business Opportunities in China

Chiefs of 12 enterprises from the United States, Singapore and Germany, including heavyweight champion Evander Holyfield, said Wednesday that they are keen to do business in China.

The entrepreneurs said that they wish to cooperate with Chinese partners in the fields of sports, investment services and trade.

Chairman Ni Weizu of Neeonix Ltd. America, who is leading these companies to China, said that "China's accession to the World Trade Organization (WTO) will provide win-win opportunities for both China and the United States."

"These opportunities should be grasped by the entrepreneurs of the two countries," he said at a forum on Sino-U.S. businesses in the Great Hall of the People. And Neeonix Ltd. America will continue to organize about 500 U.S. entrepreneurs to seek business opportunities in China.

Nine of the twelve companies come from the United States, including Holyfield Management, Timco, Ultimed, Chanber, Airborne, and Achee Global. Eight of the U.S. firms have come to China for the first time.

Some of the U.S. entrepreneurs will visit Chongqing, the largest city in southwest China.

Former WBA (World Boxing Association) Heavyweight Champion Evander Holyfield, who is also CEO of Holyfield Management Inc., said that he is interested in doing business in China, and that he wishes to develop a good trade partnership with the Chinese people.

China will certainly become a member of the WTO, which is of great importance to both China and the world, said Dong Fureng, a well-known Chinese economist.

He said he hopes that both the Chinese and U.S. sides can make full use of this opportunity, promoting bilateral trade ties " since the two economies are complementary."
