Chouioia Cunea Successfully Bred for Killing American White Moth

Altogether 200 million Chouioia Cuneas, bred by a research institute in Tianjin, have been lately released in over 10 areas of Tianjin in order to kill the natural enemy-- American White Moth, thus protecting some 50,000 trees. Located at the juncture of Jiangsu and Shandong provinces, the toll station of Beijing-Shanghai Expressway is presently China's biggest toll station of expressway. There are 30 charging channels here.

Scientific Research Institute Built on Barren Sandbeach

The year 1999 saw the establishment of an agricultural hi-tech scientific institute in over 2,000 mu (15 mu = one hectare) of beach, some 20 km away from Zhengding County of Hebei Province in north China after seven undergraduates were assigned to work in the local agricultural bureau. China Delivers First Batch of Training Planes to Egypt

The first batch of training planes manufactured in a joint Egyptian-Chinese factory were delivered in Cairo on Wednesday. The K-8E planes, produced under a contract signed between Egypt and China in December 1999, were mainly used for training pilots.

Living Order Return to Normal after an Earthquake

The earthquake measuring 5.1 on the Richter scale only caused minor damages to some buildings in the area on July 10. No casualty are reported.

Rescuing Boar from Flood

A Chinese armed police officer carries an imported boar to a boat in a suburb of Nanning, capital city of south China's Guangxi Zhuang Autonomous Region on Tuesday evening July 10, 2001. More than 10,000 imported boars that got trapped in the flood were moved to safe area Tuesday night in Nanning. The water level of the Yongjiang River flowing through Nanning has been keeping five meters higher than the warning level over the past week.
