Eight Criminals Executed in South China

Eight people, who were found guilty of the crimes for murder, manslaughter, robbery, blackmail, kidnapping and illegally possessing weapons, were sentenced to death and executed in Chaozhou, a city in south China's Guangdong Province.

The execution was announced during a meeting by the Intermediate People's Court of Chaozhou on June 29, said local sources.

The executed criminals were Huang Minghong, Qiu jingrong, Wang Yuncai, Liang Fuliang, Lai Yuanyou, Lin Ruisen, Chen Shubin and Lin Chengshun.

Huang Minghong and Qiu jingrong were the prime culprits of the organized crime gang. The eight criminals were all deprived of their political rights, and all of Huang's property was confiscated, said the sources.

Also at the meeting, Huang Youfa and Chen Tianxue were sentenced to death for manslaughter but with two years' reprieve, while kidnapper Liu Zuopeng, drug trafficker Liu Shaojie, and three robbers, Lin Yanxin, Lin Jirun and Lin Chengsheng were sentenced to life imprisonment.

Another 13 people were also sentenced to jail terms below 16 years for committing lesser crimes at the same function, according to the sources.
