State Council Appoints Two Major HKSAR Officials

The State Council, China's highest governing body, has, on the nomination and recommendation of Hong Kong Special Administrative Region (HKSAR) Chief Executive Tung Chee Hwa, made the following appointments of two principal officials of the HKSAR government:

John Tsang Chun-wah was appointed as Secretary for Planning and Lands and removed from being the Commissioner of Customs and Excise.

Raymond Wong Hung-chiu was appointed as the Commissioner of Customs and Excise.

Gordon Siu Kwing-chue was removed from the position of Secretary for Planning and Lands.
