Rural Cadres Urged to Study "Three Represents'"
Hu Jintao, a senior leader of the Communist Party of China (CPC), Tuesday called on officials and Party members in rural China to fully understand the significance of President Jiang Zemin's speech on July 1.

Speaking at a meeting on studying the idea of the "three represents'" put forward by Jiang Zemin, Hu, member of the Standing Committee of the Political Bureau of the CPC Central Committee, said all the government units and Party departments should earmark a proper amount of time for officials and Party members to study the important speech.

He described the speech, which was delivered on July 1 at a gathering marking the 80th anniversary of the founding of the CPC, as a Marxist document of principle.

He said the speech is of great and far-reaching significance as a guide for promoting the cause of building socialism with Chinese characteristics, and Party building. Thus studying the speech remains an important task for the whole Party.
