Taiwan Expecting Beijing's Winning in Olympic Bid

If Beijing wins the 2008 Games Bid, it will be a new century's grand event for the Chinese people across the Taiwan Straits and for all the Chinese people as well, said Wang Jinping, vice-chairman of the Taiwan-based China Reunification League on July 9.

According to him, Taiwan-based China Reunification League is in full support of Beijing's Olympic bid. The International Olympic Committee will decide by vote the hosting city of the 2008 Olympic Games in Moscow on July 13.

If Beijing wins, it will not only make a great contribution to the peace in Asia and the world and the happiness and prosperity for the people, but also promote sports development in Taiwan and strengthen the Cross-Straits exchanges. In addition, Beijing's winning in the bid will certainly make Olympic Games more brilliant and attractive.

July 13 will see Taiwan-based China Reunification League hold an outdoor activity in front of the Dr. Sun Yat-sen Memorial Hall in Taipei, including broadcasting the bidding result and letting off firecrackers if Beijing wins the Olympic bid.
