HK Launches Scheme to Commend Taxi Drivers
Hong Kong taxi drivers who have shown good conduct and quality performance to members of the public, particularly taxi passengers, will be commended through a Taxi Driver Commendation Scheme.
Speaking at the launching ceremony of the Taxi Driver Commendation Scheme Monday, Dorothy Chan, acting commissioner for transport, said the scheme is aimed to encourage taxi drivers to provide more quality services to passengers, and the standard of the taxi trade will be enhanced as a whole.
Nomination for taxi drivers will be made to the Transport Department through 16 specified organizations by mail.
The 16 specified organizations are Hong Kong Police Force; Transport Complaints Unit, Transport Advisory Committee; Consumer Council; Hong Kong Tourism Board; Airport Authority Hong Kong and so on.
All commended taxi drivers will be presented with a Quality Taxi Driver Identify Card and a Quality Taxi Driver Certificate and be awarded souvenirs as recognition.
