From 29-16 advantage, China entered the second half 46-30 and increased their lead by outscoring Japan 15-12 and 21-19 in the last two periods to seal the victory. Oga Yuko who scored 39 points in their first meet, was cornered for 12 points from 5-20 shots, while Asaki Shigeta and Taki Nao added 16 and 14 apiece for Japan. In the championship game, Diana Taurasi had 24 points to pace the United States for a 90-67 victory over Brazil, with Alana Beard and Shameka Christon adding 19 and 15 points respectively.
