Dalian Shide Take Over Lead in Chinese First Division Soccer League

Dalian Shide took over the lead from Shanghai Shenhua with a 8-0 rout of Bayi Zhenbang in the 15th round of the Chinese first division soccer league on Sunday.

The victory put Dalian Shide on top with 35 points, edging Shanghai Shenhua to the second place with a better goal difference.

Hao Haidong completed his hat-trick at the 67th minute while Zou Jie scored his fourth goal at the 78th minute. Ji Mingyi sealed the 8-0 victory for the host team five minutes from the final whistle.

Shanghai Shenhua, which suffered two straight defeats before Sunday clash with Beijing Guo'an, managed a 1-0 win at home thanks to a goal from Chinese international Shen Si at the 10th minute.

Shanghai Shenhua had also garnered 35 points but had to settle for the second place as they score three goal less while conceded only two less than Dalian Shide.

Sichuan Shangwutong, led by English coach Bobby Houghton, suffered their third straight defeats, losing 1-4 to Tianjin Taida.

The defeat cast the Sichuan team dearly as they dropped to the fourth place, 10 points behind the leaders. Shenzhen Kejian, which beat Chongqing Lifan 3-0 at Chongqing, promoted themselves to the third place with 26 points.

It was Shenzhen Kejian's first ever victory over Chongqing Lifan and the victory and the fourth-place ranking is the best ever in the team's history.

In other actions on Sunday, Shenyang Jinde lost 0-2 to Qingdao Beer, Shandong Luneng overcame Liaolin Fushun 3-1 while Yunnan Hongta drew with Shannxi Guoli 2-2.
